Three Simple Ways to Install Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds are easy to install, but before buying one, a proper plan is necessary to get them perfect. These blinds can be either installed inside or outside. Sometimes, brackets can also be used. Here are the best methods to install vertical blinds:

Method 1: Internal Mounting (Inside Window Frame)

In this method, holes have to be screwed into the valence. The L – shaped valence must be kept on a working table and from each edge, make a marking from 3 inches. The screw holes can be finally marked. There will be 2 holes in each bracket, making a total of 4. These holes can be predrilled and then finally the valence can be screwed to the inside of the window frame.  Markings on the window frame must be similar to the holes drilled on the valence.

Followed, by this, the brackets must be attached, 4 inches away from each end. Then, the head rail can be fixed and the vanes can be attached.

Method 2: External Mounting (Outside the Window frame)

This is more or less similar to the previous method, but it is a bit complicated. First, the head rail has to be installed. The location of the head rail must be decided. The blinds will reach a point below the window. The desired level at which the blind must reach down has to be marked.

Now, measure the height of the blinds. From the point below the window, the height of the blinds should be marked upwards. This is the location of the head rail. Then, the position of the brackets must be marked. From each end of the head rail, drill holes from 4 inches according to the design of the brackets. Now, the brackets can be screwed and fixed. The head rail should be attached, followed by the vanes. Finally, the valence can be added.

Method 3: Simple Way of Attaching Vanes

Most people find it difficult when it comes to attaching vanes. Here is a simple method. After the head rail is attached, the cord should be pulled to increase the space between the stems. Now, the vanes can be very easily attached. In case the slits, are not visible, they can be rotated in the convenient direction. After the vanes are attached, the cord can be pulled to get them closer.

These are the best methods to install vertical blinds. They are simple, accurate, and suitable for almost any set up.
